This symposium, as part of 2019 Heritage Korea, aims to provide opportunities to explore emerging disciplines and best practices in digital cultural heritage related to heritage conservation, management, promotion, and dissemination. In particular, it covers four sub-themes: digital heritage documentation; digital heritage reconstruction; application of Historic Building Information Modelling (HBIM) for built heritage management and preservation; and a new flagship project under the theme of “Convergence of Intelligence information technology in digital cultural heritage” and its interdisciplinary approaches.

The goal of the symposium to offer an interdisciplinary platform for academic scientists, researchers, practitioners, and heritage professionals to share their experiences and views on all aspects of the field of digital heritage, as well as to discuss the most recent innovations and their applications in the digital heritage domains. To achieve this objective, more than 10 international and national experts as well as high-raking officials from the Korean government will take part in this symposium.

The Cultural Heritage Administration of Korea will use this one-of-a-kind opportunity to build future collaborations with these renowned experts in the field of digital heritage. It will also help establish an international network of digital heritage specialists dedicated to sharing experiences and good practices related to advances in digital cultural heritage.
