The Daedam Silla, which launched in 2018, gathered residents together in the evening with a cup of tea, and research team leaders at the GNRICH told them about Silla artifacts and history and answered residents’ questions. In this way, the program has received an excellent response.Since last year, it has been changing to an online called ‘LAN line,
Daedam Silla’ as it applied an untact method to prevent the spread of the Covid-19.Lee Jong-Hoon, the Directorof the GNRICH, hosts the program, and researchers in charge of the excavation research tell cultural and historical stories. The program enhances the interest by taking a close-up of artifacts that are hard to see in real, taking advantage of online. In a way to solve audiences’ curiosity promptly, the Daedam Silla tries to keep their purpose. Changing it to ‘LAN line, Daedam Sill’ allows anyone interested in Silla culture beyond the Gyeongju area could participate and now have a stable subscribers base of more than 150 people.

The theme is patriotic temples ‘Hwangnyongsa Temple and Sacheonwangsa Temple’ where they defended their fatherland, Silla. The talk consists of ‘the Hwangnyongsa Temple, the forefront of the state-protected Buddhism’, ‘Sacheonwangsa Temple, built in Sinyurim, a forest where the gods rested and socialized’, and ‘the new discovery in 2020, the gilt-bronze key with phoenix decoration.’

In this contents, the talk will present various stories including the story of the founding of the Hwangnyongsa Temple and Sacheonwangsa Temple in the records, the stories of the Hwangnyongsa Temple site excavated in the 1970s and Sacheonwangsa Temple excavated in the 2000s, and the stories of Buddhist culture unearthed at the Hwangnyongsa Temple and Sacheonwangsa Temple. In particular, the talk will have the opportunity to take a closer look at the gilt-bronze key with phoenix decoration excavated at the Hwangnyongsa Temple site, which was first revealed and became a hot topicin the media at the end of last year. Furthermore, books such as 『Deokeopilsin Mangrasabang_The great achievements are renewed day by day, it covers all over the world』and 『Gyeongju Namsaneui Buljeok_Eojeiwa oneol_the Buddhist sites of Namsan Mt. in Gyeongju_Yesterday and Today』will be introduced during the talk, and some of the participants will be selected and presented.

Under the Cultural Heritage Administration, the Gyeongju National Research Institute of Cultural Heritage aims to respond quickly to the public’s interest in cultural heritage through ‘LAN line, Daedam Silla.’ Moreover, the GNRICH will plan to provide an untact communication with the public through various ways such as live-streaming the academic conferences and disclosing the excavation site for preventing the spread of covid-19.
