Why are some natural monument caves closed to public?

  • There are 13 natural caves that have been designated as a natural monument. Among them, the Cheonho Cave (Natural Monument No. 177), the Chodang Cave of Samcheok (Natural Monument No. 226), the Baekryong Cave of Pyeongchang (Natural Monument No. 260), Bilemot Cave of Eoum-ri, Jeju (Natural Monument No. 342), and the Dangcheomul Cave (Natural Monument No. 384) are closed to the public in order to preserve the natural caves.
