Established around 1908, this Chinese restaurant was built by a Chinese who entered Korean via Incheon Port after the port opening. It is a Chinese-style courtyard building in which a master craftsman from China’s Shandong participated in construction process. Currently, the front portion is finished with tiles of diverse colors, and various patterns and red color were used to extravagantly decorate the interior. At first, the restaurant was used to provide food and accommodation to traders. As Chinese food gained public popularity in Korea, the restaurant’s space was expanded with addition of a large-scale ball room. It remained a famous Chinese restaurant until 1980s.
