Dongchon Station is 1 unit, 1 story facility that is 176.65㎡ wide.
Dongchon Station is a station for Daegu Line that was established on July 1, 1938 when Gwanggwe Line between Daegu-Yeongcheon underwent enhancement construction. The construction was originally started by Joseon Central Railroad Company in February 1916. On November 1st of the same year, the line between Daegu-Hahyang opened, and Dongchon Station began operation as an ordinary station on November 1, 1917. Soon after, the line between Hahyang-Pohang opened on October 31, 1918. On July 1, 1928, the facility was incorporated into the national railroad, Daegu-Yeongcheon Gwanggwe Line was enhanced in 1938 and Daegu Line was shifted, causing the abandonment of Dongchon Station. The overall structure is wooden and the waiting room ceiling is finished in ‘ㅅ’ shape. Unique features include large gable in the waiting room and small gable in the office. The office was designed to secure sight towards the platform. This station presents highly esthetic roof form compared to other registered way stations.
The station is currently abandoned, and is planned to be relocated and repaired after reorganizing nearby land (apartment construction).
