The Adams Memorial Hall of Samil Middle School was built in 1923. It is called the Adams Memorial Hall because it was built with aid from North Adams Church in Massachusetts, USA.

Adams Memorial Hall was built with donations from North Adams Church in the United States, residents of Suwon, and members of Jongno Church, through a campaign organized by Pastor William Noble. The construction was supervised by Im Myeon-su, who was the founder and an independence activist after he was released from Pyongyang Prison on medical parole. It is a brick building with two floors above ground and one basement floor. The main entrance was installed off-center to the right which was rare for the time, a design decision resulting from the layout of the interior space. A wooden floor frame was installed on the floor, and the roof was composed of wooden truss. Dormer windows were installed on the roof for ventilation, and natural slates were used. The National Salvation Association, a secret society established by independence activists near Suwon such as Park Seon-tae, Lee Deuk-su and others held their weekly meetings here on Fridays to develop their plans, making this hall a symbol of Suwon’s independence movement.
