The building was constructed by Chinese brick-layers who participated in building of Jeon-dong Catholic Church in Jeonju, and merchants used to sell silk here. From the outside, it looks like two stores are connected. Small triangular gables with the same form were attached above each store’s entrance to stress frontality. The building takes the style of traditional Chinese silk store of Shanghai.
