Priest Jeong Gyu-ha (Augustine), the 2nd provost of the church, began construction of current church in 1905 with Chinese engineers, completed in 1907, and held inauguration in 1909. It is the first Catholic church built by a Korean priest, and the fourth to be constructed in Korea. The construction of priest’s office, which was renovated into an exhibition hall in 1998, began in 1912 and was completed on October 1, 1913.
The windows, doors, floors and roof were replaced while maintaining the original form of the exterior wall. Since the repair in 1997, the building is now used as an exhibition hall for relics.
