In May of 2009, a total of twenty historic items of five types were found during the dismantling of Chilseonggak Shrine of Jingwansa Temple, including newspapers issued between June and December 1919, which are thought to be associated with monks at the temple who were involved in the March First Independence Movement of 1919. The newspapers contain information about the activities of the Korean independence movement in Korea and China from June to December of the same year.
