On February 19, 1945, the Ministry of Military Affairs of the Korean Provisional Government in Shanghai announced the Military Uniform Regulations of the Korean Liberation Army. Prior to that, Korean troops fighting for independence had worn Chinese-style uniforms and insignias. This suit, the only extant uniform of the Korean Liberation Army in the country, was found in a safe inside Seoul City Hall in 1972 and donated to the Korea Military Academy.
