The Hanging Painting of Cheonhwangsa Temple in Jinan depicts a scene from the Buddha’s visit to the ceremony of Yeongsanjae (Celebration of the Buddha's Sermon on Vulture Peak Mountain). It is considered a valuable material showing that a traditional Buddhist ceremony such as Yeongsanjae was held until the early twentieth century in Korea. In general, it exhibits the traditional drawing technique used for hanging paintings, and a shading method on part of the painting.
