This three-story stone pagoda at the Changnimsa Temple site in Gyeongju has the characteristic appearance of a three-story Silla pagoda supported by a double-tier base, which was hewn from a single block of stone and carved to have columns and panels between them.
The overall size of the pagoda, the structure of its base, and the technique used to carve the eight guardian deities on the panels of the upper base make it a valuable research material with regard to the development of stone pagodas during the Silla period.
