The Standing Bhaisajyaguru Buddha of Bunhwangsa temple is 3.45m tall with a medicinal bowl in its left hand. Marked in red color inside the cover of the bowl is its production date; thus suggesting that the statue was probably made during the 50th year of King Yeongjo’s reign in the Joseon period (1774). The face of the statue is round and rotund, and the body look strong. Since the production date of the Buddhist statue is known, it provides valuable information in studying the statue.
