1st Asia Regional Forum of Site Managers and Youth NGOs

In collaboration with the UNESCO World Heritage Centre, the Cultural Heritage Administration will host the 1st Asia Regional Forum of Site Managers and Youth NGOs in Seoul on August 27-30. In the forum, planned as one of the regional events marking the 40th anniversary of the World Heritage Convention, site managers and youth NGOs from 17 countries in the Asia-Pacific region will discuss sustainable development of World Heritage involving local community. Starting from a keynote speech by WHC Director Kishore Rao on Aug 27, participants will visit the Changdeokgung palace the following day as an on-site tour to look at Korea’s World Heritage management and its ongoing repair projects. As part of the program, there will be an open venue where anyone who wants can join as observers. The Open Forum, under the theme of conservation and repair projects of World Heritage and sustainable conservation of World Heritage, is going to be held in the Royal Palace Museum of Korea at 4 pm on Aug 28 (regarding this program, please contact Ms An Haemi (Better World) at whforum@naver.com, 02-330-2441) The event will be wrapped up on Aug 29-30 with discussions in groups and presentations and evaluations.
