Cultural events on Chuseok at royal palaces

On Chuseok holiday, Korea’s Thanksgiving Day (September 30), Seoul’s four royal palaces (Gyeongbokgung, Changdeokgung, Changgyeonggung and Deoksugung), Jongmyo Shrine and royal tombs of Joseon have arranged a variety of celebrating events for visitors. No admission fee is charged to all visitors on the day, and if you wear Hanbok (traditional Korean costume) when visiting the sites during the holiday period (Sept 29 to Oct. 1), you don't have to pay the fee either. The celebrating events presented by the historic sites are as follows: - "Taking a photo with the King and Queen Consort" at Tongmyeongjeon of Changgyeonggung (September 30) - Performance: Chang (Korean narrative song) and Minyo (Folk Songs) from South Jeolla Province at Jeukjodang of Deoksugung (September 30 to October 1) / singer: Chae Su-jeong - Exhibition “Deoksugung Project” at several pavilions and the rear garden of Deoksugung (September 19 to December 2) - Experiencing Korean folk games (Yutnori (traditional board game), Jegichagi at Hyeonchungsa Shrine in Asan, King Sejong’s royal tomb site in Yeoju, Chilbaekeuichong in Geumsan (September 30 to October 1) at Donggureung, Yungneung and Jeongneung royal tombs (September 29 to October 1) - Experiencing traditional Korean archery at Hyeonchungsa Shrine in Asan (September 30 to October 1)
