Nighttime tour in Gyeongbokgung and Changgyeonggung

The Cultural Heritage Administration plans to extend the opening hours of Gyeongbokgung and Changgyeonggung palaces by 10 p.m. for five to seven days in early October: Gyeongbokgung (Oct. 3-7), Changgyeonggung (Oct. 1-7). The nighttime tour was organized in order to present visitors a memorable opportunity of enjoying the palaces' beauty at autumn night. The entrance is closed at 9 p.m. for both royal sites. At Gyeongbokgung, the tour begins at Gwanghwamun Gate and visitors are guided to walk on an arranged path, where they can see the palace pavilions brilliantly illuminated with decorated lights. Meanwhile, Changgyeonggung visitors can freely hang around the palace site and experience diverse cultural events. Here are the scheduled occasions. - Changing the Guard: Oct 1, Oct. 3 - Oct. 7 at 6:40, 7:40, 8:40, Honghwamun Gate - Reproduction of a feast for King Sunjo and his crown prince: Oct. 3 at 8:30 (2 hours), Munjeongjeon Hall - A nighttime concert of traditional Korean music, presented by Korean Gukak Center, Oct. 6 at 7:30 (1 hour), Tongmyeonjeon Hall - "History Tour with Plays": Oct. 5 - Oct. 6 at 6:30 (1 hour), Gyeongchunjeon Hall. No extra fee is charged for the events except the admission fee: Gyeongbokgung (3,000 won), Changgyeonggung (1,000 won)
