The National Research Institute of Cultural Heritage, an affiliate organization of CHA, has concluded MOUs with two British museums recently on research, publication and promotion of Korean cultural properties. The NRICH’s counterparts are the British Museum and the Victoria and Albert Museum. Founded in 1753, the British Museum houses about 1,600 items of Korean cultural properties and the Victoria and Albert Museum, well known for its superiority in decorative art, has kept approximately 800 cultural properties removed from Korea. Based on the arrangements, the NRICH will visit the museums for on-site investigation and publish the research results both in Korean and English in paper and electronic format for distribution.
