Push Ahead of Robotech Fusion Research by Korea Research Institute of Ships & Ocean Engineering and National Research Institute of Martitime Cultural Heritage The organizations of Korea Resaerch Institute of Ships & Ocean Engineering and National Research Institue of Maritime Cultural Heritage propelled co-research of the underwater cultural hertiage by utilizing the deep-sea robot that was created literally based on Korean robotics. The Korea Research Institue of Ships & Ocean expertized in excavation of underwater cultural heritage has studied for the excavating methodology appropriated with both the materials and circumstances of underwater cultural heritage since 2013. Within March 2015, these organizations practiced the fundamental experience of deep-sea robot 'Crabster 200(CR200)' in the purpose of underwater cultural heritage research. Among the functions of this deep-sea robot, technological development by using both arms of robot such as 'pick-up the pottery' and 'explore the surroundings practiced by the functions of ultrasonic wave camera and scanning sonar was considered one of the most outstanding acheivements. * Ultrasonic wave camera(1.8~3.0MHz) : Video recording in 15 meters ahead (15 frames per sec) * Scanning sonar : High resolution sound navigation and ranging with the capability of object detection in 150 meters.
