Korean Traditions in Agriculture, Rice Planting at Changdeokgung Palace on 5 June, 11 a.m Changdeokgung Palace Office and Rural Development Administration will practice the traditional rice planting ceremony called Chingyeongle, at Cheonguijeong of Ongryujeong of Changdeokgung Palace on 5, June around 11 a.m. This event is originated in the historic base during Joseon Dynasty. In the past, the King practiced plant farming himself yearly to evoke the rice planting works for the people. Besides the purpose of leading the people to the farming, the Chingyeongle rice planting ceremony caused the King of considering the real lives of civilians who relied on their days on farming. On event day, with visitors entering the Secret Garden of Changdeokgung Palace in 11 a.m., we offer the chance of participation with no charge.
