MOU signing ceremony between the Korea National University of Cultural Heritage and the Royal University of Fine Arts in Cambodia
- Promotion of cultural heritage professionals and mutual cultural exchange in the field of cultural heritage in both countries-
Korea National University of Cultural Heritage (President Kang Kyung-hwan) and the Royal University of Fine Arts in Cambodia (President Heng Sophany) will sign a memorandum of understanding on April 5 at 9 a.m. (local time in Cambodia) for enhancing professional students and promoting cultural exchange in the field of cultural heritage.
The Cambodian Ministry of Culture and Fine Arts proposed two universities that the agreement for capacity building and educational training in the field of cultural heritage and for promoting academic and research exchanges during an online meeting on March 30, 2022. After three online meetings between the two universities' working-level staff, they were able to finalize the agreement.
Under the agreement, the two universities will actively promote ▲ the exchange of researchers, faculty members, and students, ▲ joint research on cultural heritage, ▲ execution of collaborative research projects, and ▲ joint lectures, seminars, and conferences.
Korea National University of Cultural Heritage, in line with the joint press release between the Cultural Heritage Administration and the APSARA Authority, will continue to make efforts to support professional development and capacity building in the field of cultural heritage, while expanding cooperation with cultural heritage institutions in both countries to foster cultural heritage professionals.
This agreement is expected to contribute to developing cultural and educational cooperation between Korea and Cambodia and promote greater understanding and appreciation of each other's cultural heritage.
