The Cultural Heritage Administration holds a weekly concert at the Deoksugung palace from May to September. The concert where traditional Korean music and dance is performed is organized by the Korea Cultural Heritage Foundation and supported by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism. At the palace’s Jeonggwanheon pavilion, it continues until September 20 on every Thursday at 7 pm. Deoksugung is the only palace that opens in the nighttime, and Jeonggwanheon was a resting place for King Gojong during the late Joseon period. No extra fee is charged for audience except the admission fee to the palace (1,000 won for adult). On the upcoming Thursday (May 17), Piri Sanjo (instrumental music with a small flute), Gyobang Gutgeori (female dance) and folk songs from the Northwestern province will be performed.
