Gyeongbokgung and Changgyeonggung palaces open for nighttime viewing

The Cultural Heritage Administration will open the Gyeongbokgung and Changgyeonggung palaces to visitors for nighttime viewing for 12 days - each from April 29 to May 11 (Changgyeonggung, except May 5) and from April 30 to May 12 (Gyeongbokgung, except May 6). The number of daily visitors are limited to 2,200 (Changgyeonggung) and 2,000 (Gyeongbokgung) in total, and visiting hours are daily from 7 to 10 pm. The opening areas of each palace are Honghwamun Gate, Myeongjeongjeon Hall, Tongmyeongjeon Hall and Chundangji Pond in Changgyeonggung and Gwnaghwmun Gate, Heungnyemun Gate, Geunjeongjeon Hall and Gyeonghoeru Pavilion in Gyeongbokgung. Last entrance is 9 pm one hour before closing, and the admission fee is the same as daytime (Changgyeonggung: 1,000 won, Gyeongbokgung: 3,000 won). The ticket sales begin April 22, 2 pm for Changgyeonggung and April 23, 2 pm for Gyeongbokgung. Foreign visitors can buy the tickets by phone between 9 am to 5 pm, Monday through Saturday during the sales period, and on-site purchase is also available. The daily ticket allotment to foreign visitors are 65 (Changgyeonggung) and 55 (Gyeongbokgung), and the same quota is arranged for on-site purchase.
