Agreement between The National Research Institute of Maritime Cultural Heritage and International Council

on Monuments and Sites-Korea

-Strengthening of Research Cooperation on Underwater Cultural Heritage-


The National Research Institute of Maritime Cultural Heritage (NRIMCH, Director Kim Yeonsoo) of the Cultural Heritage Administration of Korea and ICOMOS (International Council on Monuments and Sites) national committee of the Republic of Korea (Chairperson Song Inho) has made an agreement on an academic exchange at the NRIMCH, April 28th.

 

Through this agreement two institutes will cooperate in the relevant field by ▲ co-host international/national conference; ▲ joint research through scholar sub-committee; ▲ join and participate in the International Committee on Underwater Cultural Heritage(ICUCH); ▲ mutual exchange of the papers and sharing of the data; and ▲ mutual promotion on the academic activity of the institutes etc.

 

The NRIMCH will join ICOMOS international headquarter and ICOMOS-Korea committee as a group member for the concrete implementation of the agreement. The NRIMCH plans to organize an underwater cultural heritage scholar sub-committee to work with the team.

 

The NRIMCH, the executive agency together with ICOMOS-Korea committee will support underwater cultural heritage specialists to expand national influence in this field and make a leap forward to be an international research institute.
