The Pony is a small rear-wheel drive automobile produced by Korean manufacturer Hyundai Motors from 1975 to 1990. As South Korea's first mass-produced car, the Pony 1 -- forming part of the collection of Baek Jung-gil -- was made in December 1975, featuring five-door hatchback, 1.2 L (1,238 cc) 4-cylinder engine, and four-speed manual transmission. The vehicle is now generally regarded as a major contribution to laying a firm foundation for the remarkable success of the Korean automobile industry across the global market.
