These fourteen artifacts made and used by Hansen's disease patients include 14 items of 8 kinds, such as a knife for individual treatment, a porte-button, a ladle, a saucepan, a pan holder, and items used at the site of forced labor, including cement block cast, tile mould, etc.
They are considered significant historical materials that reflect the special social and cultural circumstance of patients suffering from Hansen’s disease, who survived thanks to their wisdom and determination in times of change and extreme hardship.
