Son Byeong-hui was a religious leader who served as the third patriarch of the religious order known as Chondogyo (Religion of the Heavenly Way); an independence fighter who fought with great determination against Japanese Imperialism; and the leader of the Thirty-three National Representatives of Korea whose Declaration of Korean Independence led to the outbreak of the March First Independence Movement in 1919.
