An Chang-ho was a great patriotic politician whose successful public life began when he joined the Independence Club. Thereafter, he organized several important patriotic organizations not only in Korea but also in North America, the Russian Far East, and China, including the Mutual Assistance Association and the Young Korean Academy. He led the Provisional Government of the Republic of Korea in its early days, and maintained his intense commitment to patriotic activities aimed at securing the independence of Korea.
