Villagers in Seongnam-ri have believed the local god of Chiaksan Mountain to be their guardian. Seonghwangnim consists of many trees such as Carstor Aralia and Rubus coreanus. The people in the village performed a sacrificial ritual for the god wishing for the well-being and peace of the town twice a year on April 8 and September 9.
