Guyak jeonseo (The Old Testament) consists of one book of the Old Testament issued by the Great Britain Bible Society (present-day Korea Bible Society) and one book of the Old Testament issued by the American Bible Society. The two books belong to the same edition printed at the Fukuin Printing Limited Partnership in Yokohama, Japan, although the publishers are marked differently.
As the first Korean version of the Old Testament, they are considered an invaluable material worthy of registration as a cultural heritage worthy, and an important resource for studies on the history of Christianity in Korea and Korean translations of foreign regional and personal names.
