This roll book was produced by the Manilchamseon gyeolsahoe (Zen Buddhism Society), which was established by the Buddhist Master Baek Yong-seong (1864 -1940). As the only extant roll book of the Society, it is considered a significant source of information on the genealogy of Korean Zen temples such as Mangwolsa Temple, Tongdosa Temple, and Naewonam Hermitage, and on the identity of Zen disciplinants at that time.
