North American Aviation’s F-51D Mustang was the first fighter plane to be used by the Republic of Korea Air Force (ROKAF) on July 2, 1950, shortly after the outbreak of the Korean War on June 25, 1950. As the main fighter of the ROKAF, it conducted numerous successful operations against North Korean forces during the war. The planes are regarded as valuable historical materials due to their important role in aircraft operational technology, pilot training, and the modernization of the Korean Air Force.
