This building, built as Gyeongsangnam-do Provincial Government Building when the office relocated from Jinju to Busan, was used as the provisional government building during the Korean War. Although it was originally built in flat ‘ㅡ’ shape, expansion and reformation during the 1960s transformed its shape to ‘□’ and ‘日’ shapes. Gate porch protrudes in the middle of building’s front. The overall architectural design exhibits authoritarian atmosphere with protuberance in the middle and both ends and gable roof on the top. This historical building represents the political and social change in Korea’s modern history, and is considered to be a modern representative public building in Busan area together with former official residence of Gyeongsangnam-do governor (presently Provisional Capital Memorial Hall). It is currently used as the Museum of Dong-A University.
