The Collection of Historical Records of Gimnyongsa Temple was produced by Gwon Sang-ro (1879–1965), a Korean scholar who became Buddhist monk at Gimnyongsa Temple. The collection, which consists largely of ancient documents and Buddhist paintings kept at the temple, is considered an invaluable source of information on the history of modern Buddhism, art, architecture, and literature in Korea.
