The Wanju National Research Institute of Cultural Heritage under the Cultural Heritage Administration (Director Choonyoung Oh) will hold academic symposium “Imagine the Future of Research Institute” on the occasion of the opening of Wanju National Research Institute on Nov. 21, at the Ramada Hotel Firenze Hall in Jeonju, Korea from 13:00.
Wanju National Research Institute of Cultural Heritage, which opened on Oct. 4 wants to discuss the current state of the research and study on Jeonbuk regional cultural heritages and the ways for research direction and future strategies with experts from academia and institutions.
The academic symposium is composed of 6 presentations. The presentation on the ▲ dynamics and future strategy of Gayan Culture in Jeonbuk (Jang-geun Kwak, Kunsan National University) focusing on the current state of and outcome of excavations in Jeonbuk area will be given followed by presentation on achievements and future tasks of early iron age in Jeonbuk area (Soo-young Han, Honam Cultural Property Research Center).
In addition, presentations on ▲ examples on the utilization of Jeonbuk cultural heritage and ways for development (Ki-hwan Roh, Jeonbuk Provincial Government) focusing on the preservation and utilization of cultural heritage of local government, ▲ on the current state and tasks for late Baekje ruins (Heung-seon Choi, Iksan National Museum) focusing on research and survey on late Baekje, ▲ on the current state and future tasks of Jeonbuk architectural heritage (Hye-gyeong Nam, Jeonbuk National University) focusing on the trend of survey and research on cultural heritage in line with the 4th industrial revolution and study and research status of architectural heritage of Jeonbuk and ▲ on digital cultural heritage in the 4th industrial revolution era (Yeon-kyu Choi, Cultural Heritage Administration) will follow.
After the presentation, experts from relevant fields and presenters will participate in the panel discussion session to discuss direction of the development of research institute and ways to boost research from various perspective as moderated by professor Wan-kyu Choi of Wonkwang University.

It is expected that this academic symposium will serve as an opportunity to boost the research and survey on Gaya culture and early iron age culture in Jeonbuk, which have not grabbed much attention, with the launch of the Wanju National Research Institute in Jeonbuk area.
