The Cultural Heritage Administration celebrated in Vietnam the completion of the “Digital Reconstruction of the Hue Imperial City.” The representative of the CHA handed over the digital film to the Hue Monuments Conservation Centre on June 7. The digitalization project was conducted with Official Development Aid (ODA) from the Republic of Korea to the Socialist Republic of Vietnam. The Hue Imperial City was the main palace of the Nguyen Dynasty, the country’s last one. With state-of-the-art technology provided by KAIST, the palace was digitally reconstructed to its original appearance. The digital film showing the three-dimensional look of the Imperial City will be screened everyday, so that visitors from home and abroad can have a better understanding of the palace. The screening equipment was provided by Samsung. The Imperial City project shows the CHA’s strong commitment to the preservation of cultural heritage, regardless of its originality. The administration will build on this achievement and do more in conserving and transmitting cultural heritage.
