The Cultural Heritage Administration has launched “Smart Cultural Heritage” application developed for use on Android and iPhone, to make it easier for people to access various Korea’s cultural heritage sources. The mobile application can be downloaded through QR code at CHA’s website (www.cha.go.kr) or at app store markets. In addition to general information about cultural heritage as well as CHA news and photos, the mobile application provides GPS service, which indicates locations of 11,291 state-designated or province-designated cultural or natural properties. It also features Korea’s World Heritage sites including four royal palaces and Jongmyo Shrine as well as royal tombs of the Joseon Dynasty. To enhance efficiency of the administration of cultural heritage, CHA also plans to launch another application for managers, available at any place while carrying out their work. Currently, the mobile app is available in Korean only.
