The Cultural Heritage Administration and Korea Cultural Heritage Foundation will jointly host the 2014 Royal Palace Cultural Festival, from tomorrow, September 20 to 28. Under the slogan "Today, We Meet the Palace," special programs are planned at four royal palaces, Jongmyo Shrine, National Palace Museum and the Seoul City Wall. At 8 pm today, the eve of the festival, the Pyeongtaek Nongak Band opens the festival with its gilnori performance, which is led to the official opening announcement. Then, entire programs are introduced through video to audience, and festivals are announced to heaven with the "Feast of Obangsaeok (the traditional five directional colors)" performance. This is led to Ogomu (Five Drums Dance) Media Performance, an Ogomu dance combined with media facade, that is followed by another performance "The Swell of Light at Gwanghwamun." The events on the eve are closed with Pangut play, entertaining all participants at the venue. The Jongmyo Jereak ritual music performance is scheduled from Sept. 26-28, at 8 pm, lasting one hour at Jongmyo's Jeongjeon or the main hall.
