The Cultural Heritage Administration has produced and distributed the Royal Palace Cultural Calendar for 2013 in collaboration with the Korea Cultural Heritage Foundation, with support of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism. The cultural calendar contains the annual schedule of palace programs including performance, lecture, exhibition and reproduction of rituals for every month at each palace throughout the year. The main programs listed on the calendar are 1) Gyeonghoeru Yeonhyang (Banquet), Gyeongbokgung (12 times in June and September), 2) Changdeokgung Moonlight Tour (28 times on full-moon days, March - May, August - October), 3) Spending a Night at Changgyeonggung (10 times, May - June), 4) Special Lecture at Jeonggwanheon, Deoksugung (Fridays in May and September), Jongmyo Myoheonnye (Rite) (1st and 3rd Fridays in September and October). The cultural calendar is part of CHA's 'Making Lively Palaces and Jongmyo' project started in 2009 in cooperation with the MCST, Seoul Metropolitan Government and Korea Tourism Organization, seeking to develop the former royal residences into internationally recognized tourist destinations. The 2013 project is titled 'Royal palaces, where history is alive and culture is flourished.' The calendar was produced in four languages (Korean, English, Japanese and Chinese) and is in circulation for free at the four palaces, Jongmyo, major tour agencies and tourist information centers. *pdf files in three foreign languages are attached here.
